Happy 3rd Birthday, Caroline!

I can't believe it has been three years already. You are growing into such a wonderful little girl. I am so blessed to have you as my daughter. You posess an amazing personality. For example, we were just watching Tigger and Pooh's Christmas special and towards the end of the movie a lost baby reindeer finds her parents. You cry out oohhhhhh, and we look at you and you have tears in your eyes. I said oh are you crying and you said no, I happy she found her mommy and daddy. Well, I started to cry with you. It was so touching. You jumped into my lap and hugged me for the rest of the movie with you cheek on mine. I flashed forward to your teen years and realized that now I have a friend to watch movies with and get teary eyed and not be made fun of by the 'men' in the family. Daughters are wonderful. I wanted to share a letter with you that I got from my Mom. The words describe exactly how I feel about you...

Think of a mitten and a hand, or the way tea fills the curve of a teacup.

In the same way, there is a place in my life shaped like you. Before you came, I did not even know it was there. But afterward, I knew I had always had it, this quiet and waiting space in the middle of my heart that you, and only you, could fill. And even more than the day you came into my world....I LOVE YOU.
