Life Lesson- Money
Today Caroline used her own money that she has saved to purchase a game that she wanted. We had bought the game for a friend's birthday and she fell in love with it. Last year we purchased a bank for Caroline that had 3 slots in it. One for saving, one for spending and one for sharing. We spoke to Caroline over the year about giving money to those who are less fortunate, which she has, and to save money for her future, and to be able to buy special things for herself with the money she alloted for that. Our talks have really helped her learn that she can't have everything and how great it feels to buy yourself something with the money you saved and how to begin saving again. It was so priceless to see her counting out her quarters, dimes and nickels to the storeowner. Thank you Mumbles and Squeaks for being so patient. They even gave her change.

LOVE it! What a great experience.
We're working on the concept of money. Hannah doesn't care and Christopher is a fan of the "finders keepers" law. So, maybe next year for us.
That's wonderful Jan! I've seen those banks and wondered when we should start that with Ella. Her first purchase with her own money was hello kitty bandaids! She goes through them so fast I told her she had to buy her own if they were for pretend "boo-boos"-I took a picture in Walmart bc it was so cute!! Miss you guys!!
Great idea! I'm sure she was super proud to be able to do that, too.
Do you have the "Money Savvy Pig" bank? I want to get Lexi one, but not sure which to get... I definitely want it to have the different compartments.
She's too cute!
