Mom, she is not a Hot Potato, she is your daughter..

Dear Caroline,
You are only 10 days old and
already your brothers are watching
out for you. everyone, and I mean
everyone, has come to visit you. Of course,
everyone wanted a chance to hold you
and love you. So, I apologize if you were
passed around like a hot potato,
I will never let that happen again.
Yes, Rick and Kent,I know she is my daughter.
She is just so cute, how can a person resist a hug?

Anyway, I think you loved every minute of it!

It's a girl!

IT'S A GIRL!

CAROLINE ISABELLE

Wow, Caroline! What an experience. Kara asked me to be in the delivery room with her for your arrival. It was amazing. Your Daddy and I never wished for either a boy or a girl but I was so surprised when the doctor said Congratulations you have a daughter! A daughter, I love the way that sounds. I know you probably think this is gross, but I got to cut your umbilical cord. That cemented our bond. You took your first breath on your own after that. I was the first to hold you and I did count your toes, fingers and I kissed you all over. I couldn't wait to tell your Daddy. The doctor also announced that you were the biggest baby born that day..You were beautiful. Almond shaped eyes, blonde hair, long fingers and your pinky toes were tucked under the next toes. I fell in love with you the instant you looked up at me. I knew that your Daddy and brothers were going to feel the same way. We love you so much Caroline.

Waiting

Well, here we are. At BWI waiting for our plane to leave for Houston, Texas. Waiting..that is something we got very good at. Waiting for our homestudy appointments, waiting for our clearances, our fingerprints, etc. Waiting for the call that would fill our home with more joy. Then on November 2, 2005 we received that magical call. "You were chosen!" We couldn't stop crying. It seemed surreal. Tami our caseworker said that Kara loved our album and was so happy that you would be spoiled by two older brothers and dogs and 4 sets of Grandparents. Your Dad and I are so nervous and excited. We are going to meet your birthmom, Kara, tomorrow. We pray that she will feel our love for you. That she will know that we will do anything for you, raise you to be a beautiful person. To be happy, and secure and self-confident. We can't wait to meet you. The best thing is that we have no idea whether you are a Caroline or a Logan, a Chloe or a Joshua. It is now 7am Monday, December 5, 2005 and we are in the 'waiting' room of the hospital. We did not get much sleep last night. We met Kara, Jada who is 2 years old and soooo cute, and Jada's grandma. We had a great visit. We answered all their questions and laughed alot. We can not wait to hold you and count your toes and fingers and kiss you all over.
